What will you do?
We are looking for a Port Performance Manager Analytics. You are a member of the Customer Digital Leadership Team (Digitalization) and hierarchically lead the Port Performance Analytics team (5-8 employees). In addition to personal development, you will motivate, coach, support and guide your employees on professional issues and in the process-related field. The following items are important in your role.
Strategic leadership on data
– Develop and monitor the vision on analytics within the theme of port performance, in line with the business strategy.
– Translate strategic priorities into clear, measurable performance indicators that are relevant to commercial, operational and sustainability objectives.
– Initiate and guide ‘lighthouse cases’ that make the value of data and analytics tangible for decision-making.
Realisation power and execution
– Ensure timely and impactful delivery of analytics products such as dashboards, cockpits, and predictive models.
– Strengthen and broaden the use of the existing Analytics Cockpit, and ensure integration into decision-making processes.
– Effectively manage external partners (such as analytics providers or technology suppliers), with a focus on content alignment and knowledge assurance.
Stakeholder management and organization-wide collaboration
– Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and act as a sparring partner in the field of performance.
– Facilitate collaboration between departments through structured stakeholder management and the creation of common goals.
– Communicate insights in a convincing way, tailored to the audience and with a sense of timing and depth.
Team Development and Leadership
– Coach and develop team members and foster a culture of learning, ownership, and quality.

The Customer Digital team is a multidisciplinary team with diverse backgrounds. As an important strategic theme, the team reports to the CEO. You will work closely with colleagues from the Commercial Department, Digital & IT, Innovation, Environmental Management, Strategy, Marcoms and our subsidiary Portbase (Port Community System). Together, we strengthen the port’s competitive position and reduce emissions.

Department Information
The Digital Port Performance (DPP) department is responsible for making the port measurably better through digital. The department is responsible for orchestrating world-class operational and emission performance for the logistics and industrial cluster with an ecosystem of market parties and internal stakeholders. The goal is a real-time connected port that is efficient and resilient. DPP is part of the Commerce department that is ultimately responsible for our customers.
CORE ACTIVITIES
The Digital Port Performance department has 3 core activities:
A. Port Performance Analytics
– Providing insight and measurably improving the Port Performance of the logistics and industrial cluster through data and insights.
– Managing data and performing analytics in collaboration with other digital departments.
– Delivering and developing data and analytics competencies for analytics roadmaps.
B. Port Performance Digital Programs – Logistics & Transport
– Together with internal and external stakeholders, measurably improve the logistical performance for development objectives (such as waiting times, emissions, modal split) for the seafront and the hinterland.
– Improve the global connect in supply chains through a corridor approach in collaboration with national and international stakeholders and agencies.
– Delivering and developing digital competencies to implement initiatives from clients (such as Strategy, Commerce), prioritized via ABR/QBR.
C. Port Performance Digital Programs – Energy & Industry
– Together with internal and external stakeholders, measurably improve the performance of the industrial cluster for development objectives (such as sustainability, competitive prices, reliability).
– Coming up with and implementing new propositions through digital on important themes such as the future energy system, critical raw materials, circularity.
– Delivering and developing digital competencies to implement initiatives from clients (such as Strategy, Commerce), prioritized via ABR/QBR.
Organisatieomschrijving
Het Havenbedrijf Rotterdam werkt namens de gehele haven en zet zich in voor het versterken van de concurrentiepositie van de Haven van Rotterdam, zowel voor de huidige als voor toekomstige generaties. Alle nationale en internationale bedrijven die in de haven actief zijn, hebben belang bij een goed bereikbare, duurzame en toekomstbestendige haven met ruimte voor verdere groei.

Voor de functie van
Manager Digital Port Performance Analytics
zoekt het Havenbedrijf Rotterdam een professional die deel uitmaakt van het Customer Digital Leadership Team (Digitalisering) en hiërarchisch leiding geeft aan het Port Performance Analytics-team (5 tot 8 medewerkers). De manager is verantwoordelijk voor het aansturen, coachen, ondersteunen en ontwikkelen van medewerkers, zowel op inhoudelijk als op procesmatig vlak. Daarnaast speelt de kandidaat een belangrijke rol in het realiseren van de digitale en datagedreven ambities van het Havenbedrijf.
Belangrijkste taken en verantwoordelijkheden
1. Strategisch leiderschap op het gebied van data
– ontwikkelt en bewaakt de visie op analytics binnen het domein Port Performance, in lijn met de organisatiedoelstellingen en bedrijfsstrategie;
– vertaalt strategische prioriteiten naar concrete en meetbare prestatie-indicatoren die bijdragen aan commerciële, operationele en duurzaamheidsdoelstellingen;
– initieert en begeleidt zogenoemde lighthouse cases waarmee de meerwaarde van data en analytics voor besluitvorming inzichtelijk wordt gemaakt.
1. Realisatiekracht en executie
– draagt zorg voor de tijdige en effectieve realisatie van analytics-oplossingen, waaronder dashboards, cockpits en voorspellende modellen;
– stimuleert het gebruik en de verdere doorontwikkeling van de bestaande Analytics Cockpit en borgt de toepassing ervan binnen besluitvormingsprocessen;
– stuurt externe partners en leveranciers aan op het gebied van analytics en technologie, waarbij inhoudelijke kwaliteit, kennisborging en resultaten centraal staan.

Het Customer Digital-team betreft een multidisciplinair team met uiteenlopende expertises en achtergronden. De kandidaat werkt nauw samen met collega’s van onder meer de afdelingen Commercie, Digital & IT, Innovatie, Omgevingsmanagement, Strategie, Marketing & Communicatie en Portbase. Vanuit deze samenwerking levert de kandidaat een bijdrage aan het versterken van de concurrentiepositie van de haven en het realiseren van de duurzaamheidsambities van het Havenbedrijf Rotterdam.

Uren en werkdagen
Aantal uur per week: 32,00
Werkdagen: Maandag; Dinsdag; Woensdag; Donderdag
Toelichting op uur per week: Werken op kantoor is de norm, daarbij hebben we de mogelijkheid om vanuit huis te werken.
HBR streeft naar een 60/40 verdeling tussen werken op kantoor en vanuit huis.

– De kandidaat beschikt over een afgeronde hbo- of wo-opleiding, bij voorkeur in een data- of digitaliseringsgerelateerde richting.
– De kandidaat beschikt over minimaal 10 jaar relevante werkervaring op het gebied van supply chain, digitalisering, performance management en/of data-analyse, waarbij aantoonbare resultaten zijn behaald binnen een vergelijkbaar complexe omgeving.
– De kandidaat beschikt daarnaast over minimaal 3 jaar leidinggevende ervaring in het aansturen van een analytics-team en het coachen van professionals in hun ontwikkeling.
– De kandidaat heeft aantoonbare ervaring met het opzetten, implementeren en doorontwikkelen van datagedreven performance dashboards en cockpits.
– De kandidaat is in staat om strategische vraagstukken te vertalen naar concrete datamodellen en prestatie-indicatoren.
– De kandidaat heeft ervaring met het structureren van open performancevraagstukken en het creëren van sturing op basis van data.
– De kandidaat heeft kennis van logistieke processen en begrijpt hoe data en analytics hierin waarde kunnen toevoegen.

– You have at least 10 years of relevant work experience in supply chain, digitization, performance management or data analytics, with demonstrable impact and in a similarly complex environment.
– You also have at least 3 years of management experience in leading an analytics team and coaching professionals in their development.
– You have a proven track record in setting up and realizing data-driven performance dashboards and cockpits.
– You know how to translate strategic issues into concrete data models and performance indicators.
– You have experience in structuring open performance issues and creating direction through data.
– You are strong in stakeholder management and know how to organize cooperation across departments.
– You have knowledge of logistics processes and understand how data and analytics add value here.
